Hong Kong
Hong Kong is a special administrative region under Chinese sovereignty and one of the main gateways between mainland China and international capital. Its position rests on finance, trade and logistics, and on trust in its rules, while its political autonomy has narrowed and its legal framework is moving closer to mainland norms. The issues that recur are political control against financial openness, the outflow of talent, housing costs, and how geopolitical friction and financial decoupling affect investor confidence. Here you find news, politics, economy and security in Hong Kong, month by month, with the background explained.
