The administration's account
The president was elected by the whole country; a district judge was elected by no one. Opponents who lost at the ballot box shop for friendly courts and obtain within days orders that freeze policy for the nation. More such orders were issued against this president in a year than against his predecessors in decades. The administration appeals and complies, and it wins most of what reaches the Supreme Court. Judges who take over the conduct of foreign policy, deportation or the management of the government's own staff have left the judicial role.
