Houthis attack Saudi refinery and Yemen port, killing 11

In early August 2026, Yemen's Houthi rebels attacked a Saudi Aramco refinery on the Red Sea coast in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, and also struck the Yemeni port of Mokha with missiles and drones. The attacks killed at least 11 people, with eight deaths reported in Mokha and three in Saudi Arabia, though Saudi officials said there were no injuries at the refinery. The Houthis claimed responsibility for both strikes, which came shortly after Saudi Arabia signed a defense pact with another country.
