US Ambassador Calls Jammu and Kashmir an Important Part of India

US Ambassador Sergio Gor said that Jammu and Kashmir is an important part of India during a visit to Srinagar. He also praised Delhi and the Chief Minister for their peace efforts. Indian politician Shashi Tharoor welcomed Gor's statement. Pakistan responded by summoning a US diplomat.
