Bank of France Governor Rejects Debt Cancellation Plan

The governor of the Bank of France criticized a proposal by Jean-Luc Mélenchon to cancel France's debt, calling it illegal, dangerous and useless. The governor also described the economy as being in a worrying situation. France has cut its growth forecast as its economy lags behind European neighbours, and its debt interest bill is set to jump 25 percent this year.
