Trump and Putin visit China, discuss Taiwan, Iran, North Korea

US President Donald Trump ended his state visit to China, while Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to visit China from May 19 to 20. During Trump's trip, he discussed Taiwan, Iran, and North Korea with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Trump insisted he did not give ground to Xi on Taiwan, and said Xi agreed that Iran must keep the Strait of Hormuz open. Trump also mentioned the case of jailed activist Jimmy Lai, calling it 'tough.' He said he is losing patience with Iran but did not ask China for favors. Putin's visit comes just days after Trump's departure.
