Putin Seizes Control of Nestlé and Auchan in Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree placing the Russian businesses of Swiss food company Nestlé and French retailer Auchan under temporary state management. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the move involves only the introduction of external administration over the assets. Nestlé said it is weighing all options after Moscow seized control of its Russia unit. The seizure is described as the largest such action since 2024.
