Japan invests billions to boost Rapidus in global AI chip race

Japan has approved an additional $4 billion (¥632 billion) in support for chipmaker Rapidus, bringing total government backing to around $16 billion. The funding aims to propel the domestic startup into the global AI chip manufacturing race. The government is also supporting Rapidus in securing customers for its advanced semiconductor production.
