India offers help to end Russia-Ukraine war during Jaishankar's Kyiv visit

In early September 2026, Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar visited Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and offered India's support to help end the Russia-Ukraine war. Jaishankar said India is ready to extend "any help" to facilitate peace efforts and called for dialogue to resolve the conflict. During the visit, he also reiterated India's commitment to supporting peace initiatives.

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made statements about the conflict, suggesting that freezing the conflict in Ukraine would mean a revival of Nazism. Separately, Zelenskyy said Ukraine expects US envoys to arrive in Kyiv in the coming days for talks, a development that comes as ten people were reported injured in Ukraine.
