Putin Honors Russian Teachers and Praises New Duma Deputies

In October 2026, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed teachers in Russia, thanking them for their commitment to the profession and awarding honors to teachers of soldiers who took part in the military operation. He said teachers in the border regions are fulfilling their duty to students, that Russian teachers uphold the best standards of education, and that every child in Russia should have equal opportunities for education. He also said that learning native languages does not conflict with the unity of Russia's multiethnic society.

Putin also said that a large cohort of soldiers who took part in the military operation has entered the State Duma.
