US and Iran exchange strikes in Kuwait and Bahrain

In early July 2026, the United States launched fresh strikes on Iran, which prompted Iranian attacks on US military targets in Kuwait and Bahrain. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced they conducted 85 strikes on US military facilities in those two countries, calling it an initial retaliation. An IRGC member was killed in the US strikes, according to Iranian state media.
