China issued a strong condemnation of the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei by the United States and Israel, labeling the strikes as unacceptable and brazen aggression. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called for an immediate ceasefire and a return to dialogue and negotiation. In a further diplomatic gesture, a Chinese vice foreign minister visited the Iranian embassy in Beijing to convey official condolences.
