Pakistan has announced that US-Iran talks will begin on Sunday in Switzerland, with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and military chief Asim Munir departing for the negotiations. US envoy Steve Witkoff is also heading to Switzerland for the discussions. Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has traveled to Tehran to meet with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, with implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding also on the agenda.
India has rejected remarks by Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari regarding the Ganj Shahida Mosque in Varanasi, calling them 'absurd comments'.
A Lahore court has sentenced four leaders of Imran Khan's party to 10 years in prison for the May 9 riots, while former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was acquitted.
