Pakistan on July 7 reported the killing of nine police officers by militants at a checkpost in the southwest, days after a terror attack in Karachi. Gunmen targeted the officers near a dam project in Balochistan. Separately, a cargo plane with five people aboard went missing off Pakistan’s coast, officials said. The TTP claimed responsibility for the killing of a Pakistan Air Force officer in Islamabad, while the alleged killer was sent to jail. Sindh’s Counter-Terrorism Department said it thwarted a major terrorist plot in Karachi by arresting two BLA militants.
