European countries investigate violence at rallies supporting Kurdish YPG groupGermany is investigating incidents of violence at rallies supporting the YPG, a Kurdish militia group in Syria. In France, supporters of the YPG and its umbrella group, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), reportedly attacked police and vandalized shops during demonstrations. Separately, the YPG/SDF has been accused of being responsible for the release of Daesh (Islamic State) terrorists from a prison. In unrelated news, a Japanese court ordered the government to pay damages over a suicide by a member of Japan's Self-Defense Forces.
