Palestine
Palestine is defined by governance split between competing authorities, limited sovereignty and an economy that depends on aid and on access and movement controls. It stands at the core of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which shapes diplomacy and security debates across the Middle East. The standing issues are the Gaza war, settlements in the West Bank and the wider regional confrontation involving Israel, with humanitarian conditions moving in step with security developments.
