France and India near major fighter jet deal during Macron's visit

French President Emmanuel Macron is visiting India, with a major defense deal being a central focus. India's Defence Acquisition Council has cleared a proposal to buy 114 Rafale fighter jets from France, with 90 of them to be manufactured in India and include a significant amount of local components.

Macron's trip is also aimed at strengthening ties in areas like defense and artificial intelligence between the two countries.
