France restricts US ambassador's access and investigates Epstein links in government

France has taken action against US Ambassador Charles Kushner, barring him from direct access to French government ministers. This move came after Kushner failed to obey a summons related to US comments about the death of a far-right activist.

Separately, French authorities are conducting a widening investigation into links between the late financier Jeffrey Epstein and French officials. Police raided the Arab World Institute, which is connected to former minister Jack Lang. Lang has since resigned from a public role over a separate, Epstein-linked tax fraud probe. The French foreign ministry is also dealing with allegations against one of its diplomats, Fabrice Aidan, who is named in the Epstein documents and denies all accusations.
