Medvedev says Russia does not want a global conflict

Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, stated that Russia is not seeking a global conflict. He made the comments while reiterating that Moscow's offer to discuss the New START nuclear treaty remains on the table.

In the same series of remarks, Medvedev said Russia considers Taiwan part of China and accused the United States of turning Venezuela into a 'de facto colony.' He also asserted that war crimes committed against Russia have no statute of limitations and that retribution for them must be inevitable.
