Israel and Hezbollah exchange threats and attacks along northern border

Cross-border fighting between Israel and Hezbollah has continued, with Hezbollah launching drone and rocket attacks on northern Israel, including hitting a warship in the Mediterranean. Israeli officials say they have killed more than 40 Hezbollah fighters in recent strikes.

Israeli Foreign Minister Katz threatened that Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, would die and the group would pay a heavy price for the attacks. Meanwhile, Israeli military officials said that disarming Hezbollah is a task for Lebanon's government, not the Israeli army, a statement that drew criticism from local Israeli council leaders.
