Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said she was shocked by the murder of farm workers in Calabria. Separately, author Erri De Luca was excluded from the Salerno Letteratura festival over his comments about Gaza. The festival's organizers denied censorship but said there was no shared view on the Palestinian deaths. De Luca responded that the festival had excluded itself from him.
