Multiple attacks target Western military sites in Iraq, killing French soldier and prompting Italian withdrawal

A series of coordinated attacks targeted Western military interests across Iraq. A drone strike on a base in the Makhmour region killed a French soldier and wounded several others, while separate attacks hit the US embassy in Baghdad and a base near Erbil airport. In response to the deteriorating security situation, Italy announced plans to withdraw its troops from the attacked base in Erbil.
