Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a video call. They discussed the current state of their countries' relationship, which they described as entering a new stage of growth and being an example of bilateral cooperation.
During the call, Putin thanked Xi for a visa-free travel arrangement between Russia and China. Russian officials said the leaders also discussed international situations, including matters related to Iran, Cuba, and Venezuela. Separately, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu visited China and met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
