Iran attacks US bases in Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait with drones

On July 24, 2026, Iran's army and its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched drone attacks on US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait. The IRGC claimed it targeted an Amazon data centre in Bahrain and destroyed US troop quarters, aircraft, and Patriot systems in the strikes. One US soldier, Army Sergeant Angel Rampersad from Queens, was killed in the attack on a base in Jordan.

Iran said the attacks were retaliation for unspecified actions. The IRGC also claimed to have hit three ammunition depots in Kuwait. The US has not yet officially confirmed the full extent of the damage or casualties beyond Rampersad's death.
