Judge orders ICE director to court, blocks deportations in Minnesota case

A federal judge in Minnesota has ordered the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Tony Homan, to appear personally in court. The judge criticized the agency's handling of an operation in the state and threatened Homan with contempt of court if he does not comply.

In a related ruling, the same judge blocked the immediate deportation of a five-year-old boy and his father, who were detained during the Minnesota operation. The order requires the government to keep the family together while their legal case proceeds.
