American climber scales Taipei 101 skyscraper without safety ropes

American rock climber Alex Honnold, famous for his free solo ascents, climbed the outside of the Taipei 101 skyscraper in Taiwan without using ropes or safety gear. An image circulating online that appeared to show a cameraman filming the climb from a nearby building was later revealed to be generated by artificial intelligence.
