Ukraine and Russia exchange strikes in the Black Sea region

On July 15, 2026, Ukraine and Russia traded attacks in and around the Black Sea, with Russian strikes on Odesa killing at least three people. Ukraine reported hitting Russian oil and gas tankers in the Black Sea, and a Ukrainian sea drone reportedly destroyed a Russian FSB vessel in the port of Gelendzhik. Russian drones also struck a Turkish ship crewed by Azerbaijanis near Odesa. Ukraine has expanded its maritime campaign, claiming to have struck 20 Russian vessels in the Black Sea.
