Fire and flooding cause disruptions and patient transfers at São Paulo hospitals

A fire broke out in the basement of the InCor (Heart Institute) building in São Paulo, forcing the transfer of patients. The fire reportedly started in a generator, and smoke from the incident also led to the relocation of patients at the nearby Instituto do Câncer (Cancer Institute).

Separately, heavy rains caused widespread problems in the city, leaving 81,000 people without power, causing flooding, and knocking down trees. The flooding has reportedly increased by 47% in São Paulo.
