Israel expands ground operation in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah strongholds

The Israeli military has expanded its ground operation in southern Lebanon, taking control of the strategic town of Bint Jbeil. The IDF says it has destroyed or captured key sites there, including a stadium where Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah once gave a major speech.

Israeli strikes have reportedly killed a significant number of Hezbollah fighters, with the army claiming over 100 eliminated in the south and 250 in a single set of strikes in early April. The fighting has wounded Israeli soldiers and damaged civilian infrastructure, including Red Cross ambulances.
