Venezuela proposes amnesty law that could free hundreds of political prisoners

Venezuela's acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, has announced a proposed amnesty bill. The legislation could lead to the mass release of political prisoners dating back to 1999 and includes plans to close the notorious El Helicoide prison.
