Romania faces domestic challenges on medical leave, political representation, and road safety

Romania's Ombudsman has asked the Constitutional Court to review a rule that allows employers to not pay workers for the first day of medical leave.

Separately, a report shows Romania continues to have a low number of women in political office. The country also has the highest rate of road deaths in Europe over the last decade, even though the number of serious accidents has gone down.
