Iran's Revolutionary Guard Says Mines Hit Tankers Near Strait of Hormuz

In October 2026, Iran's Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) said mines struck tankers crossing the Strait of Hormuz. According to the IRGC, three tankers were hit by mines in the strait, and two tankers were halted while crossing. Iran said a supertanker was violating regulations when it hit a mine south of the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC also said its strikes on US ships near Hormuz were unsuccessful.
