Poland and Slovakia are launching investigations into the late financier Jeffrey Epstein following the release of court documents. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said his government will set up a task force to probe whether Epstein had ties to Russian intelligence, suggesting he may have been a spy for Moscow.
In Slovakia, the political fallout is more direct. The country's national security adviser, who was also a close confidant of Prime Minister Robert Fico, resigned after messages with Epstein were revealed. The adviser denied any wrongdoing but said he felt like a fool. Separately, a senior EU trade official from Slovakia also publicly denied having any ties to Epstein.
