OpenAI says China-linked actors tried to use ChatGPT to target Japanese official

OpenAI reported that a China-linked actor attempted to use its ChatGPT tool to plan an influence operation against Japanese official Sanae Takaichi. The company stated that ChatGPT refused to assist with the requests. The campaign was described as an effort to discredit or intimidate the Japanese figure.
