India's space agency sees rocket mission fail after liftoff

A rocket launch by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) failed after liftoff. The PSLV-C62 mission, which was carrying a satellite called 'Anvesha,' experienced a deviation in its third stage and lost control.

This was ISRO's first space launch attempt of 2026. The agency had conducted seven readiness reviews in preparation for the mission, which was intended to mark the PSLV rocket's return to flight on January 12.
