Israel Says 170 Killed in Gaza Were Terrorists, Not Journalists

In October 2026, the Israeli military said that 170 people killed in Gaza who had been named as journalists belonged to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The IDF also said it killed two men in Gaza strikes who took part in the October 7 attacks, including one who abducted hostages from Be'eri. It added that 70 operatives were killed in Gaza last month, 17 of whom took part in the October 7 attacks. The military said it also killed a suspect in the kidnapping of the Shoham family.
