France's Macron pushes for diplomacy to prevent Israeli ground offensive in Lebanon

French President Emmanuel Macron is urging Israel to refrain from launching a ground offensive into Lebanon and is calling for direct talks between Israel and Lebanon. He has reportedly proposed a ceasefire plan that would require Lebanon to recognize Israel. Macron has also deployed the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle to the region as part of diplomatic efforts.
