Flash floods in Nepal and Tibet kill at least 160, hundreds missing

In late August 2026, severe flash floods and landslides struck the Nepal-Tibet border region, killing at least 160 people and leaving hundreds missing. The disaster hit popular trekking and pilgrimage routes, including the Kailash Yatra, with hikers from around the world caught in the deluge.
