Iran says its supreme leader was killed in US and Israeli strikes

Iranian state media has confirmed that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in what it describes as joint U.S. and Israeli strikes. The reports state the strikes hit a location described as his compound.

In response, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it has launched a new wave of retaliatory strikes against U.S. bases and Israel. President Donald Trump, in a Fox News interview, claimed a high number of casualties, stating 48 leaders were killed in the strikes.
