Anthropic CEO says political donations and criticism of Trump led to government conflict

The CEO of AI company Anthropic, Dario Amodei, said in an internal memo that the company's conflict with the U.S. government, including a Pentagon contract blowup, is linked to its refusal to praise or donate to President Donald Trump. Amodei also attacked rival OpenAI, accusing it of telling 'straight up lies' and linking government hostility to his own political donations.

Separately, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said his company is pulling back from investing in both Anthropic and OpenAI, though his explanation was unclear. The comments come as Wall Street analysts from S&P Global warn that AI's 'creative destruction' could impact entire companies.
