Federal judges block Trump immigration policies on deportations and protections

Multiple federal judges have ruled against Trump administration immigration policies. One judge rejected a policy allowing swift deportations to countries other than a migrant's home country. Another judge blocked the administration's plan to end legal protections for about 350,000 Haitians, which would have allowed their deportation.

In other immigration news, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is planning to spend billions of dollars to expand immigrant detention centers. A separate appeals court allowed a Trump administration policy to continue detaining undocumented immigrants without giving them a chance to seek release from custody.
