Western Allies Press Israel Over West Bank Settlements

Western allies have stepped up pressure on Israel over its settlement policy in the occupied West Bank. UK politician Ed Miliband accused Israeli settlers of ethnic cleansing and said the entire occupation is unlawful. He also criticized the Israeli government for backing what he called settler terrorists. Twelve countries joined the push to raise pressure on Israel over the colonization of the West Bank.
