Iran Sends US Conditions for Talks and Ending War

In September 2026, Iran said it had sent the United States a set of conditions for re-engaging in negotiations and ending the war between the two countries. The message was conveyed through Qatar, according to Iranian officials. One report said the list contained seven conditions, and a deputy foreign minister said the US cannot avoid responsibility for war crimes in Iran by leaving the UN Human Rights Council.

Iran said it is ready to return to negotiations if the US convinces Tehran of its sincerity. A spokesperson, Baqaei, criticized a White House spokesperson over accusations against Iran.
