The US military has begun transferring Daesh (also known as ISIS) detainees from Syria to Iraq. US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the transfer of the first 150 prisoners.
This move comes after reports of a major prison break in Syria. Syrian authorities said 120 Daesh detainees escaped, while a Kurdish news website reported the number was as high as 1,500. In response to the situation, Iraq has warned of imminent security threats.
