Sweden's Election Too Close to Call as Left Bloc Holds Slim Lead

Sweden held a parliamentary election on September 13, 2026, and the result remained too close to call. The center-left opposition bloc held a narrow lead of about three seats over the governing bloc, according to the election authority and ongoing vote counts. Exit polls had also shown the center-left ahead.

The count continued with no clear winner declared. The left and right blocs were separated by as little as one seat, leaving the question of a change of power open.
