Indian man pleads guilty in US to plot against Sikh separatist leader

Nikhil Gupta has pleaded guilty in a U.S. court to being involved in a plot to assassinate Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a Sikh separatist leader. The FBI has described the case as an example of 'transnational repression'.

U.S. authorities have drawn connections between this plot and the killing of another Sikh separatist, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, in Canada last year.
