Lufthansa to buy 44.9% stake in TAP Air Portugal

In October 2026, Lufthansa agreed to acquire a 44.9 percent stake in the Portuguese state airline TAP Air Portugal for 1.2 billion euros. The German airline won the contest for the stake ahead of Air France-KLM. Portugal approved the entry of Lufthansa into the state-owned airline.
