Meta shuts down over half a million accounts in Australia after new age rule

Meta, the company that owns Facebook and Instagram, has disabled more than 544,000 accounts in Australia. This action was taken to comply with a new Australian law that bans users under the age of 16 from joining social media without parental consent.
