German Chancellor Friedrich Merz visits India for the first time

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is on his first official state visit to India. He met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and their activities included participating in an International Kite Festival and visiting the Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat.

During the visit, some activists called on Modi to ask for the return of a child named Ariha.
