Toyota pursues multiple technology investments and shareholder support

Toyota is making several moves to expand its technology footprint. The company is reportedly working with investment firm Elliott Management to secure shareholder support for a potential buyout of Toyota Industries, a major parts supplier.

Separately, Toyota is deploying seven Agility Robotics humanoid robots at a factory in Canada to assist with manufacturing tasks. The company is also increasing its involvement with Joby Aviation, an electric air taxi startup, signaling a bigger investment in future air mobility.
